2. 
Evaluate Your Needs and Priorities
Systematically evaluating your needs and priorities will help you zero in on the type of home/neighbourhood you want and, together with your price range, will help me narrow the field of properties to show you.

Begin by listing your needs, for example, the number of bedrooms/bathrooms you require.
• 
Add to this the things you want.
• 
When you are finished you can it to me or use the on-line form to help you make your list of requirements.

3. 
Prioritize and Stay Focused
Something to focus on throughout your home search is the location and general condition of a property.
• 
Try not to focus on an exact price or a particular feature, such as hardwood floors, a new roof or a finished basement. If you are in the right ballpark, price can usually be worked out during negotiation with the vendor.
• 
If you can't find the features you want in the neighborhood you want, try giving up home features rather than the location. You can always install hardwood floors or add a bathroom to a house, but it's very difficult to alter a neighbourhood to suit.
